Caught the 9.52 train to Munich this morning, arrived at 11.30. Checked into our near the train station hotel - unfortunately the train station is in the red-light district but we now are only booking hotels close to stations as our bags are too heavy to go too far!!
Eventually found the SchnellBahn stop to go to Dachau Concentration Camp. This is a very sobering yet interesting place - I have now been 3 times and each time it is something that hits one hard - how could this have been allowed to happen?
The day was very hot but the cells where prisoners were kept were freezing even in this weather.
After a rest back at the hotel and a cup of Earl Grey, we ventured out for a Wiener Schnitzel (for me) with pototoes of course! and a Vegetable gratin for Sharon - she's very worried about eating anything salady as the E-Coli outbreak is big in the news in Germany - 18 people have died in this country but mainly in the north. We are presently in the south so hope they know what caused it before we get to the north. We are not eating tomatoes, lettuce or cucmbers!
